What are the differences between ionic bonds, covalent bonds, and metallic bonds?

    Ionic bonds occur when there is a transfer of electrons. (an atom shares an electron or electrons with another atom).

    Convalescent bonds occur when atoms share a pair of electrons.

    Metallic bonds occur only between metals.
