1500 Joules of work are done lifting a 500 N weight. How high was the weight raised as a result of this work?

    Work in general = (force) x (distance)

    Work to lift a weight = (weight of the weight) x (distance lifted)

    1500 J = (500 N) x (height)

    Divide each side by 500 N:

    Height = (1500 J) / (500 N)

    Height = 3 meters
