A rectangular metal plate measures 0.24 m long and 0.9 m wide. The plate is heated to a temperature of 1,033 K by passing a current through it. Assuming that it behaves like a blackbody, how much power does the plate radiate under these conditions?

    Mathematically, R = eAR⁴

    Where e is the proportionality constant known as emissivity of the body and it varies depending on the body considered. Since the body is a black body e = 1 (perfect body)

    A is the area of the body = 0.24m * 0.9m

    A = 0.216m²

    T = 1033K

    R = 1*0.216*1033⁴

    R = 246GW

    The plate will radiate 246GW
