The red light is a transverse wave and the wave energy propagates in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which wave travels.

Electromagnetic waves are transverse waves. Visible light consists of red light which is also an electromagnetic light. Thus red light particles vibrate perpendicularly to the direction of wave 's motion
