    8 minutes sooner

    Explanation:

    Average speed of snail = 4cm/min

    Distance to be covered = 160cm

    Time taken for the journey = distance/speed

    Time taken for the journey = 160/4

    Time taken for the journey = 40 min

    If it crawed an average speed of 5cm/min

    Distance = 160 cm

    Time for the journey = distance/speed

    Time for the journey = 160/5

    Time for the journey = 32 min

    Its going to take the snail 40 min - 32 min to Kno how sooner it will taje it if the average speed is 5cm/min

    40 min - 32 min = 8 min
