Is it possible to add heat to water and not have the temperature increase? Why or why not?

    It is not possible to add heat to water and not have temperature increase because heat capacity has to do with increase in heat energy of an object for each rise in temperature.

    Application of heat as such increase the temperature of an object from its initial temperature to a much higher temperature.
