In an experiment to measure the acceleration due to gravity, g two values, 9.72 m/s2 and 9.67 m/s2, as determined. if the accepted value of g is: 9.8 m/s2 find the followings:

i) the percentage difference of the measurements?

    To find percentage difference first we divide 2 values (to get relative value). The value that is denominator is base value (the one with which we are comparing other values. The relative value gives us how much of something (what percentage if you multiply by 100) there is comparing it to some base. Once we subtract 1 we will get difference.

    first difference is:

    (9.72/9.8-1) * 100 = 0.816%

    second difference is:

    (9,67/9,8 - 1) * 100 = 1,326%
