The average latent heat of evaporation of water is 2.3 MJ/kg at 25oC-160oC. The heating value of a biomass material is 17 MJ/kg on a dry basis. If the moisture content of the biomass is 50% on a wet basis, what percentage of the total energy stored in the biomass is required to remove all water in the biomass during gasification

Firstly the wet basis and dry basis are not the same. The wet basis involves measuments taken with consideration of the amount of moisture contained in a sample while in dry basis there is absence of water.
