You lift a 45-N bag of mulch 1.2 m and carry it a distance of 10 m to the garden. How much work was done?

    Work = F x D

    = (45 N) (1.2 M)

    = 54

    Gravity pulls down. So horizontal motion doesn't do ANY work against gravity. You can ignore that part.

    The only work done is when you lift the bag.

    Work = (force) x (distance)

    Work = (45 N) x (1.2 m) = 54 Joules
