    Well gravity is 9.8m/s so i would assume 19.6m/2 is the velocity

    Velocity of the stone just before it hits the pavement can be found by using kinematic equation v = u + at.

    u = initial velocity = 0 m/s. a = 9.8 m/s^2. t = 2 sec.

    Plug given values to find v.
