    Brachytherapy is also known as internal radiation therapy. Radioactive materials have the property to damage the cancer cells. So when these are locally induced to a cancer patient, they damage the cancer cells, causing very little harm to the other healthy, normal cells. Depending on the requirement, Iodine, Palladium, Cesium, Iridium and such other radioactive elements are used for the treatment.

    It is not as damaging as chemotherapy. Chemotherapy will induce the effect of the drugs on the entire body.
