A party mix is made by adding nuts that sell for $2.502.50 per kg to a cereal mixture that sells for $11 per kg. How much of each should be added to obtain 6060 kg of a mix that will sell for $2.102.10 per kg

    C = 60 - 44 = 16 kg

    given,

    cost of nuts = $2.50 per kg

    cost of cereal mixture = $1 per kg

    so the mix price should be = $ 2.10

    total amount of added weight = 60kg

    N + C = 60 kg

    now

    N * 2.50 + C * 1 = 60 * 2.10

    N * 2.50 + (60-N) * 1 = 126

    1.5 N = 126-60

    N = 44 kg

    C = 60 - 44 = 16 kg
