    Average velocity of Ben = 5.1 m/s

    Explanation:

Average velocity = Total displacement / Time taken for that displacement.

Ben walks 500 meter from his house to the corner store. He then walks back towards his house, but continues 200 meters past his house to talk to a neighbor

So his total displacement = 200 meters

    Time taken for this = 17 minutes = 17 * 60 = 1020 seconds.

    Average velocity = 1020/200 = 5.1 m/s

So average velocity of Ben = 5.1 m/s
