What is the difference between accuracy and precision and which is most important to scientific measurement?

Accuracy is the measure of how close a value, a measured value is to an actual literature true value. Precision is a measure of how close certain individual data values are from each other. I believe Accuracy is the most important to scientific measurement as it determines how close an individual value is to the expected book or literature value.
