A mechanical wave is of two types i. e. longitudinal waves and transverse waves.

The sound is a longitudinal wave in which the particles of the medium travel in the direction of propagation of the wave.

The sound wave travels through solids, liquids and gases at the different speed. It is maximum in solids because the particles in solids are very close to each other so that the waves pass quickly from one particle to another.

Hence, the correct option is (B) "Sound travels through solids easier than liquids".
