    Given Information:

    Potential difference = V = 450 V

    Current = I = 0.80 A

    time = t = 1 ms = 0.001 s

    Required Information:

    (a) Energy = E = ?

    (b) Total charge = q = ?

    Answer:

    (a) Energy = 0.36 J

    (b) Total charge = 8x10⁻⁴ C

    Explanation:

    (a) What is the energy delivered by this pulse

    The energy is given by

    E = V*I*t

    Where V is the potential difference, I is the current flowing and t is the time.

    E = 450*0.80*0.001

    E = 0.36 J

    (b) what is the the total charge that flows?

    We know the current is the rate of charge

    I = q/t

    q = I*t

    q = 0.8*0.001

    q = 0.0008

    q = 8x10⁻⁴ C
