The current model of atom describes the presence of a central positively charged nucleus consisting of protons and neutrons. Around the nucleus, there are clouds of electrons, which are also known as orbitals of energy. These orbitals are spaces where the probability of locating electrons is very high, however, electrons have no definite location. Also, atom is mostly empty space with nucleus occupying a very small part of it.
