An object has a momentum of 4,000 kg-m/s and a mass of 115 kg. It crashes into another object that has a mass of 100 kg, and the two objects stick together. If the momentum is conserved, what is the new level velocity of the combined object? Round to the nearest hundredth.

    Let assume the velocity of the second mad is 0

    m1v1+m2v2 = (m1+m2) vf

    as v2=0 and m1v1=p1=4000kgm/s

    4000 = (115+100) •vf

    vf=4000/215

    vf=18.60m/s
