How does the law of conservation of energy apply to the transformation of various forms of energy? Explain with examples.

    Law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed but it can be transformed from one form to another. This law suggests that energy is transformed from one form to another but not created neither is it destroyed. Examples of the forms of energy include mechanical energy, sound energy, nuclear energy, thermal energy, chemical energy and radiant energy

    For example, chemical energy is transformed into electrical energy in an electrochemical cell. Here, chemicals are used to generate electricity through a spontaneous redox reaction.

    Also, mechanical energy is transformed into sound energy in a guitar. Here, the fingers slides through the strings (mechanical energy) to produce sound (sound energy).

    Energy is also transformed from chemical energy into thermal energy. Exothermic reactions for instance causes chemical energy to be transformed into thermal energy. Examples of such reactions include combustion reaction and neutralization reaction.

    From the above, it can be deduced that energy is indeed transformed from one form into another form.

    NOTE: There are other examples involving the transformation of energy from one form to another

    Its meaning that energy cant be created or destroyed it can be transformed or transferred to one form to the other.

    water is stored to height with potential energy the water flows and is its potential energy becomes kinetic energy
