    6 N

    0 N

    Explanation:

    Net Force:This is the single force obtained from the addition or subtraction of two or more forces acting in the same direction or in opposite direction.

    Note: (i) When two forces act in the same direction, their net force is addition of the individual forces.

    (ii) When two forces act in opposite direction, their net force is the subtraction of the individual forces

    Fₙ = F₁ - F₂ ... Equation 1

    Where Fₙ = Net force, F₁ = weight of the body, F₂ = Air resistance.

    (i) When the object encounters 4 N of air resistance,

    F₁ = 10 N, F₂ = 4 N.

    Substituting these values into equation 1

    Fₙ = 10 - 4

    Fₙ = 6 N

    When the air resistance is 10 N,

    F₁ = 10 N, F₂ = 10 N

    Also substituting these values into equation 1

    Fₙ = 10 - 10

    Fn = 0 N
