    The total kinetic energy of the solid sphere is less than the total kinetic energy of the solid cylinder. this is because the total kinetic energy is directly proportional to the moment of inertia. the moment of inertia for the cylinder is (1/2) mr^2 while for the sphere is (2/5) mr^2. since 1/2 > 2/5.
