When a light bulb is turned the electric current in the filament causes the filament to become hot and glow if the filament is surrounded by a gas describe how thermal energy is transferred from the filament to the air outside the bulb

    The heat is transferred through the process of evaporation. Gas molecules get excited when heat is applied to them which causes it to evaporate and transfer heat energy to the air outside the bulb. Heat can also be transferred through the process of convection and conduction.
