    The final temperature of the copper = 39.4°C

    Explanation:

    mass = 115 g

    change in temperature=ΔT=T-10 where T is the final temperature.

    specific heat of copper=0.385 J/g °C

    Heat energy absorbed = Q=1300 calories

    the formula for heat is given by

    Q = m C ΔT

    1300 = (115) (0.385) (T-10)

    T-10=29.4

    T = 29.4+10

    T=39.4°C

    Thus the final temperature of the copper = T=39.4°C
