A 2-kg metal ball moving at a speed of 3 m/s strikes a 1-kg wooden ball that is at rest. after the collision, the speed of the metal ball is 1 m/s. Assuming momentum is conserved, what is the speed of the wooden ball

    M1u1 + m2u2 = m1v1 + m2v2

    2 * 3 + 1 * 0 = 2 * 1 + 1 * v2

    6 = 2 + v2

    v2 = 6 - 2 = 4 m/s.
