Gender is the explanatory variable in the survey whether gender affects political party associations created by Mathew.

    Explanation

A phenomenon that influences another factor associated with it is called an independent variable. Additionally referred to as explanatory variable, predictor or controlled variable.

For the given experimental study, the research worker manipulates the experimental variable. Here, the investigator imposes conditions on the variable and therefore the results are determined.

Hence, it is understood that results of the manipulated variable are noted and therefore it is taken as an explanatory variable. Also, more than one explanatory variable can be taken for the given study.

No gender does not have a effect on political party associations. Sexism is being booted out of America and with that comes laws that make it illegal to show a difference in men and women in the work place.
