When 1/2 of the number N is decrease by four, the result is - 6. What is three times N added to seven?

    Word problem.

    First statememt

    n/2 - 4 = - 6 ... (1)

    Second statement.

    3n + 7 = x ... (2)

    From (1)

    n/2 - 4 = - 6.

    n/2 = - 6 + 4

    n/2 = - 2

    n = - 4

    Put n into (2).

    3n + 7 = x

    3 (-4) + 7 = x

    x = - 12 + 7 = - 5

    The answer is - 5.
