Gandhiji encouraged his followers to do In order to bring about social change

    Explanation:

Gandhiji told the concepts of non-violence and peaceful civil disobedience as a part of his strategies to bring social change.

Both of these strategies were quite successful. As part of civil obedience, he asked the people to peacefully boycott British goods and services. He insisted manufacture of khaddar, or homespun cloth, so that it could replace imported textiles from Britain.

Gandhi's followers hoped that they would gain freedom by following all these strategies made by Gandhiji. So they started boycotting British goods. This was also important for economic independence of India.
