In which ways are intercultural relationships similar to intracultural relationships?

Intercultural relationships involve communication, but with someone outside of your culture. Having or developing a bond with another person, they are therefore similar to intracultural relationships. However, with intracultural relationships they are of the same culture. These cultures could be ethnic, religious, or based on other factors.
