Why did the christian leaders in europe want to capture the holy land

    Essentially the Christians wanted the Holy Land because that was where Jesus had walked and lived. His great miracles occurred there. Christianities roots stemmed from the Holy Land: Christianity branched off from Judaism. t was the place of birth of many Prophets like Zachariah, John, Jesus, Jacob ... and it was where Prophet Abraham, father of Isaac and Ishmael; ancestor of Arabs lived.
