Conditions inside of and near a black hole can be described using Einstein’s general theory of relativity. The theory’s basic premise is that matter curves spacetime, and this curvature tells matter how to accelerate. Based on general relativity, how do black holes affect spacetime, matter, and radiation in their region?

The area around the black hole called the event horizon is where an event, matter, and radiation, cannot be observed by an outside observer.

    Explanation:

Inside the event horizon, the paths of particles in matter change their direction towards the black hole which cause space to fold backwards towards itself, this is when space time curves. Inside the black hole, known as the singularity, radiation and matter experience significant changes in motion due to the immense pull of gravity that the only direction they can move in is towards the centre of the black hole.
