    The use of ground water has increased because the demand for fresh water has increased due to population growth. the correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the last option or option "d". With the passage of time, the population growth has slowed the process of replenishing of under ground fresh water. this has resulted in the level of underground water going down with time.
