Beginning in 1820, and extending through 1870, the revolutions led to new ideas and influenced the creation of new states; also, it aided economic growth, and reconstructed the European map, specifically at different times, viz: in 1820 (Greece), in 1830 (Belgium), in 1870 (Italy), and a year after 1870-in 1871 (Germany). The period between the latter part of the 19th century, and around 1907, witnessed how reconstruction of the European map influenced cooperation and diplomacy between countries that could be regarded in separate groups, and considered to be competing economically against each other: on one end, Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungary established an understanding that rivaled the understanding between Britain, Russia and France which were grouped at the other end. Unfortunately, the diplomatic understanding between the countries in these groups spilled into the World Wars that occurred much later after 1907.
