Why are some sociologists critical of the religious economy approach to looking at religious involvement?

    Religious economy may refer to the religious people and the organizations that interact within the market framework of competing groups as well as ideologies. Sociologist evaluates the religious economy market to overestimate the extent where people rationally tends to choose among the different religions, as if they were purchasing a new car or buying a new house.
