Joe is probably suffering from pneumothorax. Pneumothorax ("lung breakdown") is lung disease, which occurs due to the accumulation of air in pleural cavity as a result of break in continuity of the lung tissue leaves. There are tree types of pneumothorax: open, closed and tensions (valves).
