Throughout the middle ages and the years prior people looked to the church for guidance on what to do and for their laws. They based how they were to live of what the church said and because of this there seemed to be very little change in the way of life people were stuck in a rut of mundane living. It wasn’t until the years after the middle ages during the renaissance.
