    Confucianism in Japan is basically classified as Edo Neo-Confucianism. It is referred to the schools of Neo-Confucian philosophy developed during the Edo period in Japan. Women’s status during this period decreased and this was moderated by the influence Neolithic Culture, when the patriarchal society started to emerged.
