On what kind of food did the growing population of medieval Europe depend?

    Explanation:

    During the medieval ages, the farmers had a fall crop and a spring crop. Crops cultivated during the spring were Barley and Beans while fall produced a lot of Wheat and Rye. During the medieval period most of the population were poor and who ate poorly but the bread was a common dish among the people. The bread was consumed by everyone, but the price and quality differ by the type of grains used. Everyone drank beer and Ale since Wine was expensive and the drinking water was unsafe.
