El-Farabi played an important role in Islamic philosophy. He is often given the role as the first true founder of epistemology. He lived in a time where Islam was being divided into independent states. This was a problem because the teachings would not be unified, they would not be the same in the East and in the West. El-Farabi took it upon himself to restore the unity in the Islamic faith. He did so by the teachings of Plato and Aristotle. Because of this, he is also given the name of "Second Teacher." Some of El-Farabi's major works include his book titled Political Regime and Virtuous City. Both these books start with his research and study about the astrology and the universe, then transitions into his study of politics.

I believe you wish to find out if this is true or false and elaborate even further on it

    Answer:

    True

    Explanation:

Spelled correctly "Al-Farabi", also known in the west as Alphabarius, this Shia Muslim as argued by Henry Corbin and Najjar Fauzi with support from his Islam philosophical views, made contributions to the fields of logic, mathematics, music, philosophy, psychology, and education and is noted as second only to Aristotle (called "Second Teacher"). He wrote on various subjects, and is credited with over one hundred works. The main influence on his philosophy was however the neo-Aristotelian tradition of Alexandria.
