    After birth between 6 and 9 months babies start babbling and imitating. By 12 months or 1 year a baby's first words usually come out and by 18 months to 24 months children use approximately 45 to 50 words and will start saying short sentences. After that in 2 to 3 years these sentences are long consisting of 4 to 5 words.

    Explanation:

    A new born after crossing six months start babbling and imitating tones and speech of various sounds. They try to make various sounds in mouth. By 1 year, a baby's first words usually come out and 1 year 6 months they start to speak 50 words around. Next to that in 2 years they make short sentences by placing two words in it.

    And finally in between 2 to 3 years they speak full sentence of four to five words or more than that. Gradually start speaking complex sentences and meaningful sentences. Word stocks and vocabulary increases day by day.
