The potential problems with samples discussed in Section 1.2 that could explain this connection are as below: A mere correlation between two variables is often incapable of clarifying whether or not one variable is influencing the other. It would not be feasible to consider that the crime rate is dependent on or influence higher education or vice versa. Hence, from the information available of mere correlation, a conclusion cannot be drawn about the existence of the influence of variables on each other as there are many other factors that go unnoticed or are deliberately left out.
