According to many, the role of women has been not well-interpreted or it is not understood. However, people think today that the role of women in the Jewish community have low importance because they does not make any decision, for instance, in marriage. They have no choice but to get married to a man that has been presented to them without question. This, therefore, explains how they have no say in their life.

Even though women had rights that protect them, they were not as strong as those that protected men. However, in matters of religion, they were all equal.
