You just arrived at the station to start your shift, and you notice that your partner is asleep in a chair. You proceed to check out your ambulance. When your partner comes into the ambulance bay drinking a cup of coffee 15 minutes later, you notice a strong alcohol smell on his breath as he tells you about the crazy night he had last night and how tired he is this morning.     When you partner is not fit for work on that day that means you will be handicapp if you try to go and be at the field since he won't be hundred percent mental fit and physical fit to be working as your partner or to assist you.

    A supervisor needs to be notified so that they may talk to him or give him a warning if necessary because he doesn't put himself at risk but he will also be putting you at risk.
