    Individualism vs. collectivism

    Explanation:

In sociology, an individualistic culture prioritizes the self over the group. In other words, the self-necessities come first and then the necessities of the group.

On the other hand, a collective culture focuses in the group and not so much in each individual's necessities.

The United States is a highly individualistic culture. In this example we are told that people give priority to self-development, self-actualization and individual initiative and achievement. We can see that all these things refer to priorities of the self over the group. Thus this is an example of Individualism vs. collectivism.
