False. Young children acquire emergent literacy skills through activities such as vocabulary drills. The children acquire these skills based on their interactions that they have with other children and adults within their environments. Since kids grasp onto things they hear often, they pick up on emotions, words, interactions and much more. Engaging with children and speaking to them is important to build their vocabulary.
