    The reason why civil rights workers believe that Birmingham was a good place to protest are:

    -Eugene Connor was the city's Public Safety Commissioner.

    - Police would use violence against nonviolent protesters.

    -Media would increase pressure to change.

    Back then, Birmingham Alabama was regarded as the city with the most racial discrimination in the country. They believe if they managed to conduct a successful protest here, the others would be easy to be conducted.
