Samuel Slater is called "Father of American Industry" because of all the work he did for the manufacture, industry, and technology.

He brought textile technology to America from Britain, where he immigrated from. At the time, it was illegal to export textile technology, so he memorized construction plans of the factory, secretly left the UK, and brought the first water-powered cotton mill to the US.

The mill was completed in 1801. and in it, he invented the spinning machine that sound produce fabric of the strong thickness

With this, he put a pillar stone for the Industrial Revolution in the US and revolutionized the textile industry forever.
