Why did the teachings of Christianity appeal to so many people in the Roman Empire?

    For Emperor Constantine, it made his control of the people much easier by disempowering the existing structures.

    For everybody else, it was better than being killed for holding out.

    The were forced to convert to it, and the roman emperor at the time switched his religion from paganism to Christianity but he incorporated many pagan ideals into many christian holidays such as, Halloween and Christmas.
