How did India get its name?

India was named after the Indus River.

India was named this because of the individuality of the people.

    India get it's name after the Indus river. It might be said that India got its name because it is a derivation form Indus which is derived from the Old Persian word Hindu that is associated with the river Sindhu or Indus
