    There are many reasons why some Americans were against the consolation of Statue of Liberty some mention the cost it was very pricey to build such a large statue that would exist for centuries to come somewhere against it because it was foreign it was actually A gift from France with America only paying for the pedestal. The French were supporters of the American fight for freedom so they gave them that monument as a gift. however many were opposed to it because the decider was an American his name was Frederic August Bartholdi.
