Environmental analysis consists of an analysis of the organization's internal capabilities and the external environment. The external environment is basically the industry and the competitor environment, which can significantly affect the strategy a firm might develop. The internal analysis consists of the inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing and sales, service, procurement, technology development, human resource management, firm infrastructure, leveraging the value chain, and evaluating the management resources of a firm. The most difficult environmental analysis skills to develop are the internal analysis skills because they tend to change depending on the work environment and they're really important to the organization.
